Photography 101: Home

Photography 101 starts today. It is The Daily Post’s challenge to take and post an image per day throughout the month of November (kind of a visual art take on NaBloPoMo, which is a blogging version of NaNoWriMo – did I get those acronyms right?). I am going to do my best to participate daily.

A miniature take on my cat curled up in my bed. Where I feel most at home – coincidentally, is in my home :)

This is just a Fischer Price Dollhouse bed and a ceramic cat, lit with my dining room over head light on a dim setting and shot with my 100mm f2.8 Macro USM Canon lens on my Canon EOS Rebel T1i. I edited the image in Photoshop, cropping slightly and adjusting the color balance (my camera always shoots a bit orange- to be honest, I typically use auto white balance, if I got out of that habit I could probably get non-orange images…).

  1. Nice selective focus.

    I can’t help but wishing I could see the cat’s face for some reason. I realize it is just a figurine. But still…
