Photography 101: Landmark

I struggled with this one a bit. I automatically thought of my Souvenirs series I made while in Italy, and then of the photo I made of Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine in the same manner. I’ve been wanting to do a similar one using my miniature David from Italy, but holding it in front of the replica in St. Augustine that stands in front of Ripley’s.

In any case, I didn’t have a chance to make it to historic St. Aug today, and yet I’ve been wanting to stick to the creating a new photo each day for this challenge. So, I decided to create tourist-y photos of my miniature David as if I was in St. Augustine looking at the real one. The bushes that surround the David statue here cover up his whole body from the street, leaving only the head to be seen, I’ve always thought it was kind of funny and thus had to make one of the photos of that view. I took and edited the images on my phone to give them a tourist, on the go, posted on instagram look.

  1. I did have a little chuckle when I saw him looking over the hedge :) The first one gives an interesting perspective I have to say and yes it does have that tourist-on-the-go feel so well done!
