Holiday Wreath Challenge & Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Doors, Door Knobs and Handles

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week continues with the ‘Parts of Things’ theme, asking us to take pictures of ‘Doors, Door Knobs and Handles.’

I, of course, went the miniature route. I did just get some new dollhouse furniture.

Woodland Gnome, over at Forest Garden Blog challenged us to make and share a wreath this holiday season. My wreath is on a door (close up of the knob above), so it only makes sense to combine these 2 challenges :)

Here are some in-progress shots of the making of the wreath. I cut pieces of green polymer clay with an xacto knife and shaped them into leaves, put them together in the shape of a circle. made a polymer clay bow, baked the wreath, then made it glossy and hung it on the door.

Stay tuned for a Christmas series, I’ll be posting on, well, Christmas, to see more of this door.

    1. Thank you so much!
You can see some sculpy birds I made here http://tourmalinenow.com/2014/09/05/behind-the-scenes-daisy-and-the-unwanted-house-guest/. I created some of the props in my Halloween series with clay too, the ghosts, wolf, bats, crow, cauldron, witch hat… http://tourmalinenow.com/2014/10/31/happy-halloween/. The photos I’m going to post on Christmas will have some sculpy things here and there as well :)

      1. Thanks for guiding me to your other posts. Do you link them to each other within the posts? That would be handy for viewers. I am designing art dolls. I asked my grandson to make the faces using Sculpy. He is much better at sculpture than I. I’ll make the bodies and costumes. I’m looking forward to collaborating with him.

        1. I’m excited to see your art dolls!

I never really thought about linking them to be honest. My blog is more about the finished pictures than the materials that went into them, so I suppose I can be one track minded. I’ll think about links for the future :)
