Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: My Favorite Things, Verse Three

For this week’s challenge, Cee gives us these lyrics:

“Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes, Silver white winters that melt into springs, These are a few of my favorite things.”

White, snowflakes, winters? While not much of a representation of the verse above, this prompt made me think back to a photo I planned and attempted quite awhile ago. I was never happy with the outcome and planned to re-shoot at a later date. Well here’s the later date, and I think I like the outcome this time.

The snowman is made out of air dry clay and is about an inch tall. The snow is shaving cream.

Check out the challenge here.

  1. Wow! Great job I love this one. You have a great talent with these miniature scenes. :D I like how you chose to make this a night shot. The snow man seems to have come alive given that he’s under the light, would someone really have built him there? Or is he out and about? ;)

    1. Thank you :) in elementary school we used to bring in shaving cream on the last day of the school year to ‘clean’ out desk with. Mostly we’d get it on ourselves and each other and draw our names and pictures in it. That’s where I got the idea from.

    1. Thank you! And of course. So it’s a street light for model railroad scenery that comes with an led light installed. I don’t know a while lot about railroad electric wiring, so I plugged the 2 wires attached to the light into a dollhouse extension cord that was plugged into a dc converter. The wires were pulled through a whole in the plastic sheet that I put the shaving cream on top of for the snow, and the extension cord sat under the sheet. Some examples,

I swear it’s less complicated than it sounds. All in all, a lot of times bigger lights are way too bright for these tiny things so it’s good to have other options- these mini led lights, candles, etc. thanks for asking, sorry for probably giving you way too much info.
