Are you a fan of Edward Hopper? Have you seen Psycho? Do you watch Bates Motel? If you can answer yes to any of those than you’ve seen this house.

Believe it or not this painting by Edward Hopper, House by the Railroad, inspired the house in the Alfred Hitchcock film, Psycho.

Then Bates Motel came along as a prequel to Psycho, and held true to the original architecture.

I love Edward Hopper and film noir, so this fact is fascinating to me.

I finally finished the 2nd season of Bates Motel. I still have season 3 to catch up on. The show definitely keeps your attention, while also making you a tad uncomfortable at every turn. A genre I like? Of course. But whether I like this particular show, I still haven’t decided.

What I do know is that I love the imagery of the house, and Norma Bates eerily looking out the 2nd story window.

Ray Keim, over at Haunted Dimensions, skillfully, impressively, designed a paper model of the Bate’s mansion. I printed it, put it together, posed it, lit it and photographed it.
