The air conditioning is out. But even if it wasn’t it wouldn’t matter. The heat and humidity seep through the walls. Their little black tentacles swirling and twirling through every little crevice.
I lay prostrate. A fan on a chair by my bed. The motor, a comfort, like the sounds of the womb.
I sleep. Better than I would have expected. The fan blades slice away the demons’ tentacles.
No dreams. No tossing and turning. Just sleep, in the whirring room.

Fantastic, Jennifer. Your ideas a captivating.
Thank you so much!
Really cool modeling, Jennifer. I like it!
Thank you!
There is something special in this photo and in your words…
robert
Thank you thank you.
I love, love, love your photography. But until this and Weary, I hadn’t realized the depth and beauty of your writing. (Should’ve known better given the quality of your comments on my blog.)
I’ll be paying better attention now. <smile>
Thank you so much. It wasn’t your lack if attention, believe me I really don’t post writing. I mean ever. Hoping to do more soon. Words just don’t flow out of me as easily as pictures.
You have an insight for them, and so also a talent. Some gentle pursuit might serve you well. When they do come, let them flow. I will gratefully enjoy them.
Thank you very much for your encouragement.
You are very welcome, Jennifer.
I miss our discussions, and finding a way to mold words. Thank you for all your continued inspiration. I hope to write more soon. I also hope you are well.
:) Me too… I’ve been so distracted lately, and working on a project. Been thinking, “need to reinvigorate some communication.” With you, Dancing Echoes, On the Heath.
Life is a little fuller with you all in it. :)
Seriously great post. Love this a lot.
Thank you :D :D
This was great I enjoyed reading it.
Thank you so much.
I think you have been holding out on us! You write some good commentary there! :D <3
Thank you :) I write very very rarely. Although I enjoy these short little narratives when they strike me.
Love this one! Especially the narrative! Wonderful world!
Thank you so so much!
Did you construct the fan, Jennifer? I loved these fantasy worlds you assemble! And the description. http://judydykstrabrown.com/2015/06/26/quieres-vivir-en-mexico/
Thank you so much! The fan’s made out of cardstock. I only made it one sided which takes away from the realism, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to cut it thin enough, so with 2 sides I didn’t think it’d be see-through – if that makes any sense at all.
It does. I was thinking that one of the little plastic grid baskets they sell strawberries in would furnish perfect material to construct a tiny fan out of
Exactly! After I was practically finished making this one I thought of that. Granted, I don’t have any strawberries atm, so this worked at least.
Well, my dear, you must stockpile every possiblity on earth so you will have them when you need them! i find it almost impossible to throw anything away just in case I might need it in the future. Then your studio, too, could be so crowded that you won’t be able to work in it!!!
I was so terrible about that for awhile. Now I force myself to get rid of things because my studio/closet storage is overflowing as is (which just means I’m still not so great at it). Of course I throw something out then think of how I could have used it a week later.
Absolutely. There has to be some scientific law concerning that phenomenon. It is always the case. Throw something away you have been saving for years and within a week–you need it, precisely, and nothing else will do!
Yes! Or you can’t remember whether you got rid of it or not so you make yourself crazy searching everywhere for it!
