Joining in on Silver Threading’s Christmas Trees Around the World Challenge.
This is my 2nd Christmas with Eric (my boyfriend) and Wolfgang (my cat), but the first year we’ve set up a Christmas tree together. We purchased ornaments last year in preparation, but never got a chance to use them, so this year we got a tree and topper to go with them. We didn’t like any of the tree skirts we found in store, so we ended up cutting down the middle of a skirt I wore as a pirate for Halloween a couple years ago and re-purposing it into a tree skirt.
In this next picture, Wolfgang may seem to be relaxing, but he was definitely plotting – just look at those pupils. A few minutes earlier he’d been batting at the lower ornaments. He had even gotten up on his perch (you can see the corner of it in the left of the image above) and batted at the ornaments he could reach from there. It will be interesting to see what he’s gotten into while we sleep tonight.
Eric also outfitted our balcony with lights. It looks so magical. But no other Christmas decorations just yet. We did mini stockings last year, but we really don’t have a place to hang anything that might get a bit heavy. Besides, we’re not very good at making each other wait ’til Christmas morning to open gifts.
