Color Your World – Copper

cyw 2017 badge

The Color your World challenge will run January through April, for 120 days, with a new Crayola color topic posting each day. Join in daily, or post at your leisure.

Enter your photos, drawings, quotes, poems, stories, anything, as long as it is inspired by the color of the day.

Since this is a daily challenge, I will not have time to compile a link list daily for participant entries, however, (1) tag your post #cyw or #coloryourworld so others can follow along in the reader, (2) share your link in the comment section of each color post and (3) sign up on the home page. When you fill out the form on the home page, a link to your blog will be added at the bottom of that post – that way other participants can find all your challenge posts.

  1. Hello Jennifer. I have spent my day reading-and re-reading your how-to-host-a-challenge manifesto. In addition I studied the WordPress how-to chapter on hosting. I have a few questions.
Would you take a peek at my challenge and offer any comment?
I am a bit confused on the whole pingback/comment section instructions; please let me know if wording is correct and let me know if it populates without me doing anything. I want to keep it simple (for me and participants)
I took liberties on your how to instructions and applied your language.
I welcome your input. Thank you for reading comment, whether or not you are able to review my challenge.
One last thing . . . any suggestions on getting the word out . . . WordPress requires a 3 month wait time before they consider adding it to their event list

    1. Your how to sounds great to me! Pingbacks should show up automatically in the comment section of your post. Someone simply includes a link to your post within their post and WordPress does the rest. If they don’t seem to be showing up as they should check your blog setting and make sure you have ping backs enabled. As for getting the word out WordPress has gotten slower and slower with adding challenges to their event listing page. That said they did have an issue with their form notifications going to spam. Since fixing that issue id say they’ve followed up to requests within a month. That said you may have to rely on word of mouth at first. Each time you publish a new post on your blog maybe include a little snippet about your new challenge and a link back to it. That way little by little the blog followers you already have may begin to join in and as they do they’ll be advertising to their followers with their posts.
