Kenopsia 2

kenopsia
n. the eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that’s usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet—a school hallway in the evening, an unlit office on a weekend, vacant fairgrounds—an emotional afterimage that makes it seem not just empty but hyper-empty, with a total population in the negative, who are so conspicuously absent they glow like neon signs.

-The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows

The house – a vintage, cardboard, $1 flea market find, a reflective black surface, black lighting and miscellaneous 1:12 scale dollhouse accessories.

  1. Love the effect created by the black lighting. Feels like a frozen, mystery moment in the twilight zone. Intriguing! <3

  2. Ooh, I love how you’ve done the reflecting floor. It seems like ghostly doppelgangers and a mystery, too. Makes me wonder why the cup is turned over, the plate is about to fall off the table, yet the friendly puppy is frolicking through the stars. Wonderful! :)
