Kenopsia 6

kenopsia
n. the eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that’s usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet—a school hallway in the evening, an unlit office on a weekend, vacant fairgrounds—an emotional afterimage that makes it seem not just empty but hyper-empty, with a total population in the negative, who are so conspicuously absent they glow like neon signs.

-The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows

The house – a vintage, cardboard, $1 flea market find, a reflective black surface, black lighting and miscellaneous 1:12 scale dollhouse accessories.

  1. Wow, I did not know there was a word for that feeling of walking through an empty school corridor. Everything is so bustling and busy now, even schools on Saturdays, that I rarely experience it. I actually enjoyed that feeling, because it was so unusual. I think you captured the feeling in this photo.
