iPhone images of details of some of the 68 Thorne Miniature Rooms housed within the Art Institute of Chicago. These diorammas are extraordinarily detailed 1:12 scale pieces – meaning the chairs would seat a 5 – 6″ tall person.

I was at the Chicago Art Institute for the first time about 3 years ago, and those miniature rooms were my absolute favorite place to be; I went back 3 times!!
They really are so amazing.
