This is fascinating. I was in Paris years ago and in the Musee de Quai Branly, as part of the Americas exhibit, I saw a small articulated figure made of gold, silver and platinum. I have always assumed it was very old, but the photo I took of it and the accompanying plaque don’t seem to provide an age for the piece, and it’s difficult to find a picture of it on the museum’s online collection. I would love to send you the photos I took – perhaps to fuel another investigation?
