Color your World is Back!

But this time as a weekly challenge.

All 120 Crayola colors, one per week, every Tuesday!

Color your World was a 4 month long daily challenge January through April for 3 years running. I took this year off, but it’s time we get some color back in our lives.

Join me here at tourmalinenow.com for a new blog challenge each Tuesday at 11AM EST.

On your own blog, social media page, etc. within the week that follows, post a poem, photo, really anything, just get inspired by the weekly color! Within that post make sure to link back to that week’s prompt post or share your link as a comment on that post, so that I can share your links the following week, and tag your post ‘coloryourworld’ so others can see what you’ve shared in their WordPress Reader.

Check out the calendar and colors below. Challenge number 1 will begin next Tuesday, May 14.

Cee’s Share Your World

Cee’s questions for week 13 of 2016’s Share Your World & my answers :)

Are you left or right handed?

Right. With art or putt putt golf (lol) I switch back and forth occasionally, but I’m definitely predominately right handed.

If you had only one TV, would you prefer the TV in the living room or another room?

I do only have 1 TV, and for the most part we’ve had it in the living room. We recently rearranged, using the bedroom area as our studio/office, the living room as the bed room and the dining room as the living room. So now we’re able to swivel the TV around on it’s stand depending on whether we want to watch from bed or the couch.

Have you ever participated in a distance walking, swimming, running, or biking event? Tell your story.

Recently I participated in the ADA Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes. It was a 5K, so 3.1 miles, and like I said, just a walk, but it was my first time participating in anything of the sort. I enjoyed it, although I would have liked to raise more money for the cause. I’ve considered off and on doing a mud run…but none of the ones that are too crazy – I’m not super athletic or anything.

Complete this sentence: Love is…

Trust. I think, for me, someone who takes a long time to truly feel comfortable and be my full self around people, trust is a huge factor in love.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

A lot to be grateful for this week. My grandma in Ohio has been discharged from the hospital and is back in the rehab center. Her white blood cell count is almost back to the correct level, and she’s able to keep food down without a feeding tube. Her pneumonia hasn’t improved, but I’m confident it will in time. My other grandmother, in Florida, went through a successful hip surgery. It will be a long recovery, but I’m thankful she’s doing okay. She will have to have gallbladder surgery soon, but hopefully all will go well with that too.

Issue 4 of felan was released 3/24. The release was pushed back, as I was in Ohio with my grandmother, but everyone was so understanding, and I have to say this is one of my favorite issues so far.

I’m gradually feeling like I’m back on track with Color your World – getting April’s posts scheduled. I’ll have 4 days in the 120 without images, which feels odd, being the host and all, but sometimes the non-blogging world calls.

Cee’s Share Your World

Cee’s questions for week 9 of 2016’s Share Your World & my answers :)

  • Have you done something you truly want to do today?
    • No…Just been working away at my desk job.
  • What can you help the world with?
    • I’m not entirely sure… Though I do like the idea of being a caretaker of some kind. I like the idea of helping others in a very personal way.
  • If life was ‘just a bowl of cherries’… which fruit other than a cherry would you be..?
    • I love eating pineapples, strawberries, and just about any other kind of berry. But as far as which one represents me??? I’m going to go with raspberry. I’m not sure why, but I like the idea of being a raspberry at the moment.

  • Quotes List: At least three of your favorite quotes?
    • “Great art is the outward expression of an inner life in the artist, and this inner life will result in his personal vision of the world.” -Edward Hopper
    • “The artist must possess the courageous soul…the soul that dares and defies.” – The Awakening by Kate Chopin
    • “When you see beauty everywhere and in everything your soul is set free.” – The Awakening by Kate Chopin
    • “Cynics are normally right. Romantics are usually wrong. But a romantic needs to be right only once in their life and that’s when they choose their true love.” – Local Color

  • Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
    • I’m grateful for the fair with Mary and Mary’s adorable chihuahuas. I’m looking forward to discussing felan submissions with Leah, and seeing her this coming weekend.

Cee’s Share Your World

Cee’s questions for week 8 of 2016’s Share Your World & my answers :)

  • What household chore do you absolutely hate doing?
    • Dishes dishes dishes. Old and/or soggy food grosses me out.
  • What was the last URL that you bookmarked?
    • How perfect – Blugging U! https://dailypost.wordpress.com/blogging-university/
  • Close your eyes. Listen to your body. What part of your body is seeking attention? What is it telling you?
    • Me head! I’m all cloudy, foggy, congested, achy. If I felt that I could, in good conscious, leave work and go home, I would. And I would promptly curl up in bed and fall asleep.

Home

  • Would you rather have a two-bedroom apartment in a big city of your choosing or a mansion in the country side in the state or country where you currently live?
    • Apartment. The idea of the upkeep of a mansion is too much, and I’m perfectly comfortable in smaller spaces. We’re in a one bedroom apartment right now, so a two bedroom in a city of my choosing sounds wonderful.

  • Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
    • Grateful for all the many submissions to issue 4 of felan (submissions due Feb. 26 – send yours in ASAP), and for extra cuddles with my kitty. I’m looking forward to getting over this cold and working on more images for my series Headlights.
