I had a great PhotoJax weekend! Local Exposure was super packed with so many people and I had quite a lot of friends come out and support. CoRK was great as always- it’s constantly changing and it’s always interesting to see the new artists and their studios.
Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

on the horizon……..
Oh boy am I excited about this one, Daniel Frost our soon to be in house framer and I got our brains together and created a fun campaign that will be released September 2nd. I have to admit there were lots of jumping up and down and excitement as we developed it.
This campaign will help us raise the funds we need to secure our SBA loan so we can open our doors. We are aiming to open at the end of this Fall and I can’t wait to share all the fun stuff we have planned for you.
As a thank you to all of our donors we have fantastic prizes lined up for each denomination gift. So keep your eyes peeled, just 7 more days until its big release.
I know you’ve seen images from this series before, but considering the series is called Change, I thought I would take this opportunity to discuss it further. I have lived in Jacksonville since my Freshman year of High school. That makes 8 years now. These past 8 years, more specifically these past 4 have been the most significant years of my life in terms of personal growth. My memories here and the experiences I’ve had have shaped me into who I am. This series, while never fully finished took figures, each representing me/ some aspect of myself (i.e. painters, photographers, readers/workers) and placed them in locations around Jacksonville that have been significant to me in some way (i.e. The Cummer Museum in which I volunteered for a few months and interned for nearly a year). I strove to fully explore Jacksonville’s effect on my life before I moved forward in my endeavors elsewhere.
I took this photo with my iPhone 4s during Jacksonville’s Crowdfunding Festival- One Spark. I had just taken a behind the scenes tour of MOCA with my gallery practices class and quickly shot this panorama from the 4th floor art studio window, looking down on Hemming Park and the giant foam duck UNF sculpture students created. The One Spark weekend was so much fun and I think it was the start of some great things to come in Jacksonville, FL.
