A tiny glass mouse and a book of Frank Lloyd Wright paper architectural models, both discovered during a visit to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, inspired a new photographic adventure. His first stop is the Freeman House, where imperfect paper construction becomes an unfamiliar world to explore. Perhaps one day he'll find a house to call home.
We've been visiting fall festivals all month, and even attended a few in September. Unfortunately, I've found that the term fall festival often refers more to the time of year than the actual content of the event. Not quite what I had in mind. Finally, during the last weekend before Halloween, we decided to return to an old standby.
A trip to Publix resulted in an enormous pumpkin, an afternoon of carving with family, and a delicious batch of freshly roasted pumpkin seeds. I had plans for some Halloween toy photography, too, but unfortunately forgot my action figures, camera, and nearly the pumpkin itself!
I've been working on a photographic series called Canals for some time now. These strange, unfamiliar environments have given me an opportunity to explore scale, perception, and the relationship between curiosity and vulnerability. I'm not quite ready to explain everything you're seeing.
