This one was pretty simple. Just a small cardboard box (about 3 inches x 5 inches) painted on the inside with a light grey acrylic hobby paint. I left one flap open in the back to shine light through. The man is an ho scale figure painted the same color as the inside of the box. I turned off all the lights (aside from the one studio light shining through the back of the box) and shot the image with the camera on my Samsung Galaxy S4.

I love this. It just goes to show that you don’t need fancy stuff to make a great shot!
Thanks so much Dov!
I love how easy you make this look Jennifer. A great idea, well executed.
I like the way you use your “available tools” to create great images! Thanks for sharing the process.
Thanks so much Robert. Sometimes I have slightly fancier equipment, but I try to stay pretty low budget on everything- which involves getting creative :)
