Photography 101 starts today. It is The Daily Post’s challenge to take and post an image per day throughout the month of November (kind of a visual art take on NaBloPoMo, which is a blogging version of NaNoWriMo – did I get those acronyms right?). I am going to do my best to participate daily.
Today’s theme is ‘Home.’
A miniature take on my cat curled up in my bed. Where I feel most at home – coincidentally, is in my home :)
This is just a Fischer Price Dollhouse bed and a ceramic cat, lit with my dining room over head light on a dim setting and shot with my 100mm f2.8 Macro USM Canon lens on my Canon EOS Rebel T1i. I edited the image in Photoshop, cropping slightly and adjusting the color balance (my camera always shoots a bit orange- to be honest, I typically use auto white balance, if I got out of that habit I could probably get non-orange images…).
Nice selective focus.
I can’t help but wishing I could see the cat’s face for some reason. I realize it is just a figurine. But still…
Thank you :) I like to leave a bit of mystery occasionally.
I lived on my bed when I was a teenager. Homework, painting nails, t.v. was all done on my bed so I can understand the comfort you get.
Thanks :) I don’t live on my bed quite as much as I used to, but then again, I probably would if I could :P
Hi Jenny, nice to see you here in the photo101 too. A cozy bed is always home!
Thank you. Glad we’re in this together :)
