Weekly Recap: October 31 – November 6

Halloween

Sunday was Halloween! Somehow that already seems like a lifetime ago. I went over to my parents to help pass out candy to trick or treaters. We don’t get anyone trick or treating at our apartment compex so it’s fun seeing all the kids in their costumes.

A Break from Creating

And well, the rest of the week was a blur. I use the Google Photo app sometimes to remind me of my week, and what photos to share here. My app is very devoid of photos this week. Tired, in pain and working mostly.

Taking time off from photo making, after working to have a new photo everyday for the Halloween challenge, was something I completely expected. Resting the photo making part of my brain has allowed at least a couple of ideas to form.

Applications

I’ve continued working on my graduate school applications, at least to the best of my ability. I have clearly, very much forgotten what it’s like to apply to college. I’m largely done I think, unless I decide to apply to additional universities, I’m still wating on a couple things however.

Crafting

Saturday, I went with my mom to an art market, then back to her house to craft.

I purchased a painting from a local artist that I plan to hang in my art space. Find her here – https://www.artangelstudios.com/ and here – https://www.instagram.com/art_angel_studios/

Lots of Christmas crafts planned, so me and my mom started with some twine ornaments. We also made a birdhouse from a kit I’d brought home from work.

Looking Forward

I’m giving an artist lecture at my alma mater in a couple weeks. I’m very honored to have been asked. Prepping my presentation will be a big part of this coming week.

I’m also very excited to be doing another artist interview on this blog soon. I’ve gotten better at those as time has gone on, but I need to work hard on just the right questions.

And I’ve finally found another place I’m going to submit art to, but I have about a month for that deadline.

So all in all, it’s time to get back to work. I do appreciate that I’ve gotten less hard on myself over the years, allowing myself time to relax along the way.
